Lack of CAN communication causes:
– Alarm can not be armed or disarmed
– sensors which are delivered via CAN can not trigger
an alarm
– no feedback to CIOM about current Alarm ECU

– no feedback to CIOM about last alarm reason
– no feedback to CIOM about active DTCs in Alarm
ECU (fault event gateway)
– alarm is not triggered due to lack of CAN
communication

has to be started. If routine ended successful then DTC will be PASSED, when
routine failed then DTC will be FAILED. Until routine starts the DTC will be
NOT TESTED.
Missing Calibration
Any defects regarding Calibration for
Ultrasonic/Inclination sensors can cause invalid work of
Ultrasonic/Inclination sensors:
– Ultrasonic/Inclination sensors can be more or less
sensitive and alarm can be false generated or at all
– Ultrasonic/Inclination sensors can not be activated.
So no alarm due to: movement detection or inclination

Ultrasonic/Inclinatio n Sensors internal fault
Internal Electronic Failure
Data from Ultrasonic/Inclination Sensors are invalid
and might not detect movement in cab, or generate false alarm.
1. internal eeprom in ultrasonic or inclination
sensor
2. bad result of ultrasonic
selftest (selftest is run just before ultrasonic is being armed)
3. bad result of inclination sensor
(selftest is run just before inclination is being armed)
Two possible causes for defect 2 & 3:
– missing microphone or
sounder connected to ultrasonic
– bad position of
inclination sensor. Sensor shall lie horizontally, not tilted, not aside
Diagnostic Service 14. No additional action is needed.
First check MDD position
Then check microphone & sounder
If no issue found, replace the MDD and send it to
backoffice.

AECU 12V Power supply output to Ultrasonic/Inclinatio n
Sensors and Siren has been shorted to ground.
Circuit Short To Ground
When defect is present then 12V (Power supply for Siren
and Ultrasonic/Inclination Sensors) is switched off.
After that, every 1sec there is an attempt to switch on
12V. Those attempts are performed as long as short is present.
Presence of short 12V at arming siren or
Ultrasonic/Inclination Sensors causes that siren and Ultrasonic/Inclination
can not be armed.
When presence of short 12V takes place when siren is
already armed than alarm is triggered. Siren starts sounding using backup
battery. In that case siren backup battery must be already charged.
